          Wed, February 8, 6:30 p.m.
          Archgate Ctr, Children’s Chapel

Every January we make resolutions to improve our lives, usually by promising to do things we haven’t been doing: reading, exercising, budgeting. What rarely happens, though, is deciding to do less. The result is an endless cycle of busyness that causes us to run from work to home to practice to…church, if there’s time.

In a society that prizes busyness, how do we intentionally slow down and restore rest, margin, and spiritual well-being to our lives and our families? Fr. Clint Kerley and Dr. Ken Wilgus will discuss psychological and spiritual tips for slowing down and enjoying the life God has called your family to live. Make plans to join us.

          To RSVP, contact Jill Nauta.

Childcare is available. For reservations, please contact Nancy Harrell.

          Coming Home to Jesus

A Study of Luke for Wise Women
written by Kay Daigle and taught by Heather Goodman —

Through the eyes of Mary, the mother of Jesus, Luke unfolds the drama of Jesus’ mission from Galilee to Jerusalem. He gives special attention to the disenfranchised and disillusioned, showing God’s compassion for the misfit and forgotten. His book is full of infectious joy and celebration that spreads to the hurting and lost.

As we walk with Jesus on his journey, we’ll learn how God empowers us to minister to our families, coworkers, community, and church through prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit. The study includes weekly Bible study assignments, live teaching by Heather Goodman, as well as great discussion. The study will prepare our hearts for Holy Week with a fresh view of Jesus’ life. Heather Goodman is a talented writer, teacher and mom. She will bring fresh insights into the life of Christ.
