Christ Church Plano

Missions

The Mission Ministry works to build up the worldwide church and to mobilize the people and resources of our local parish to respond.

This is accomplished by developing a multi-pronged strategy that will impact the world. We provide opportunities for people to experience and respond to a call for missions, integrate missions into the life of the church so people have a global perspective of the Kingdom and provide leadership to the broader church.

Missionaries

In living out the Great Commission, Christ Church actively seeks and supports members who are called to long-term missions.

Mission Teams

Christ Church encourages you to participate in a short term mission. Participation can be demonstrated in a number of ways. Some are called to go and some are called to be senders. Both have equal importance.

Short-term trips are usually 1 to 2 weeks in length and are guided by a Christ Church team leader or an approved mission agency. Qualifications will vary depending on the mission, but the most significant requirement is the desire to be a team player and to possess a servant’s heart.

Diocese of Peru

In 1998, Christ Church adopted the Diocese of Peru as a mission focus. Since that time, we have been greatly blessed by the friendship and love of our Peruvian brothers and sisters in Christ. We have maintained a close relationship with the Rt. Rev. H. William Godfrey, Bishop of Peru, and his wife, Judith since their calling to Peru in 1997. We have provided resources, supported long-term missionaries and sent short-term mission teams each year to help with construction projects, VBS, women’s retreats and the orphanage. Our purpose is to help the Diocese of Peru build up the Anglican Church in their country.
