Why do you feel called to be on the Vestry?
I grew up a military brat and my husband and I are retired naval officers. Moving around the country most of my life meant constant change, but one constant was God and the family of believers. Wherever we lived, we looked for a church that was solid scripturally and in which we could sense God’s presence. I’ve always taken an active role in the churches we attended. In my nearly 10 years at Christ Church I’ve taught Confirmation and VBS; sung in the choir; been a chalice bearer, premarital counselor, and prayer team member; chaperoned youth summer camp and attended various Bible studies. Christ Church is more than just the “church I attend”. It is MY church (and yours!) and I want to continue to contribute to its health and well-being. I was raised Southern Baptist with its rich tradition of Bible study and memorization, and my studies at Dallas Theological Seminary (MABC 2005) continued that vein, but Christ Church and DTS gave me a new and deep appreciation for the liturgy and writings of our church fathers. It would be an honor and blessing to help Christ Church continue its mission through serving on the Vestry.

Why do you feel called to be on the Vestry?
Christ Church has meant a lot to me and my family. The youth ministry is wonderful and there are so many opportunities for adults as well. I have been an On Point leader and volunteer as a greeter. My wife works in the bookstore as well. Christ Church offers so much for its members and helps out in the community and abroad. I feel that I have a vested interest in keeping Christ Church strong for its members and future generations. I would be honored to serve in such a capacity.

Why do you feel called to be on the Vestry?
Since joining Christ Church I have felt a steady pull from God to serve the Church. Currently I am involved in 2 Bible Study groups.
One I participate in as leader that focuses on business professionals and the challenges facing Christians in the workplace.
I regularly attend the On-Point mens early morning Bible Study and have completed the XP study program and assist with the Ringleaders group.
The true Anglican way of Christ Church is very dear to my heart and to serve on the vestry to help maintain this is something I am proud to be considered for.

Why do you feel called to be on the Vestry?
As Christie and I continue to grow in our faith, we have felt very convicted over the past several years of Christ Church’s call for all members to “Worship, Grow and Serve”. As we strive to teach our three young children how to become disciples of Jesus, we have felt called to set a strong example of “Service” to the Lord and His church. I feel that serving on the Vestry would provide a wonderful opportunity for me to serve the Lord in this capacity. My family and I have been so blessed by our time as members at Christ Church and we can really feel God at work in this place. I continue to be excited to give back to this church with my time and talents as God would see fit.
