Christ Church Plano is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion, a Christian family of roughly 80 million believers around the globe. These relationships provide a network of support and resources to strengthen our foundation of orthodox values.

ACNA (Anglican Church in North America)

The Anglican Church in North America was founded in June, 2009.  Christ Church Plano was honored to host the investiture of the ACNA’s first Archbishop and Primate, the Most Rev. Robert Duncan.  The ACNA is a province in formation which unifies 100,00 Anglicans in the United States and Canada in 700 parishes and 28 dioceses.  Many of the world’s Anglican leaders, including the GAFCON primates (who represent over 70% of Anglicans worldwide), have officially recognized the Anglican Church in North America.

Christ Church Plano receives oversight from Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh under the pastoral guidance of the Most Rev. Robert Duncan, Archbishop of the ACNA and Bishop of Pittsburgh.

Anglican 1000
During his investiture at Christ Church, Plano in June of 2009, Archbishop Robert Duncan called for 1,000 new churches to be planted over the next five years. The sanctuary of Christ Church erupted in a thunderous applause.  Clearly, he had touched a nerve. Fr. David Roseberry responded to Archbishop Duncan’s call by founding Anglican 1000 to mobilize the mission of replanting Anglicanism in North America.

Anglican1000 is a movement of churches, leaders, rectors, bishops, dioceses, networks and others who are embracing the call to plant churches. Anglican 1000 is catalyzing the province.  Anglican 1000 is spotlighting great leaders where church planting is successfully happening. Anglican1000 is making heroes out of the courageous clergy who are pushing a gospel-ministry forward in their context.  Anglican 1000 is serving dioceses/networks as they plant churches, churches as they become church planting churches, and all of the individual planters who are raising their hands to be part of this vision.
