Veterans Day Dinner
Veterans and spouses of Christ Church Plano are invited to a special dinner on Wednesday, November 6.
For all our members of Christ Church Plano who have honorably served our country, and to those who currently serve, I give thanks to God for you, your service, and your love for our country.
It is my honor to invite you and your spouse to our first annual Veterans Day Dinner, Wednesday November 6 at 6 p.m. in the Christ Church Fellowship Hall. It will be a great time of fellowship and encouragement in the gospel.
Our guest speaker for the evening, Canon Wes Jagoe, is both a priest in the ACNA as well as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. Canon Wes will share with us how his trust in the gospel brought him through the difficulties of combat deployment.
Come, join us for this important evening of thanksgiving and prayer.
Lieutenant Colonel Wesley Stephen Jagoe was born in Houston, Texas, and was raised in both Texas and Florida. Influenced by the events of September 11, 2001, Lieutenant Colonel Jagoe joined the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of South Florida in 2003. After commissioning in 2007, he was selected to be an Assault Amphibian Vehicle Officer at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. During his time on Active Duty, Wes deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan, where he participated in Operation Moshtarak, the Battle of Marjah. In 2015, then Captain Jagoe answered a call from the Lord to the ordained ministry in the Anglican Church in North America. He began a pastoral residency at the Falls Church Anglican, started classes at Trinity Anglican Seminary and transferred to the Marine Corps Reserves. Since his ordination to the priesthood, Canon Jagoe has held several positions within the ACNA including Canon and Chaplain to the Former Archbishop of the ACNA, The Most Reverend Dr. Foley Beach. After marrying his wife Katie in 2023, he accepted a position as Chaplain at Trinity Anglican Seminary in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. He was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in 2024 and continues to serve in the Reserves. Since 2016, Lieutenant Colonel Jagoe has ministered to veterans suffering from PTSD and Moral Injury as an instructor at The Welcome Home Initiative.
