Acolyte Training
Training on August 25 for 3-12th grade children who serve in our worship services.
Do you love the Lord and enjoy church?
Do you want to build leadership skills?
Are you excited about worship and serving others?
Acolytes are 3-12 grade students who help during worship services. As members of the altar party, they carry the cross, assist the clergy, light the way during procession, and serve as leaders and role models for other young people.
- Torch bearers: our youngest members light the way for processional
- Crucifers: experienced Acolytes carry the processional cross and serve as team leaders for other acolytes
If your student is interested in becoming an Acolyte, they must attend an upcoming training with a parent. Please make plans to attend one of these two fall trainings:
- Acolyte Training Day: August 25, 12:30 p.m. Sanctuary
- Make-up Day: September 15, 12:30 p.m. Sanctuary
Acolytes must be baptized, have completed Communion Discovery class, and commit to serve once a month. To learn more, please contact Joy Turpin, Worship Coordinator.
