On Sunday, November 16, we launched a simple but powerful new way to bless our neighbors. It begins with extending hospitality to those who walk through our doors for the very first time.
As part of our newcomer welcome process, Christ Church will now donate 15 meals to the North Texas Food Bank for every newcomer card filled out by a guest. This initiative will run indefinitely, allowing the warmth of our community to ripple outward into households across North Texas.
To kick off this effort, our parish has already made a special donation—4,000 meals—given in honor of the many newcomers God has brought to Christ Church this fall and with the recognition that there is increased need in our community and nation for donations of food.
“This is the kind of welcome Jesus calls us to offer,” Bishop Paul shared. “Every time someone visits Christ Church, they bless us with their presence. We want that blessing to overflow into our community in a tangible way. By simply coming to church and stopping by the Welcome Desk, you’re helping put food on a family’s table. It’s a small act with a Kingdom-sized impact.”
Each newcomer will receive a small card noting that meals have been donated in their honor. Members of the congregation can join in, too—by praying for our guests, greeting new faces, and helping make Christ Church a place where hospitality is lived, not just spoken.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or welcoming others, your presence is helping Christ Church serve our community with Christ’s compassion—one visit, and fifteen meals, at a time.
