Nearly 100 Take the Next Step in Faith at Christ Church

Confirmation-16

Nearly 100 people gathered on Thursday, April 16 to publicly mark a new chapter in their faith. In the largest confirmation service in the history of Christ Church Plano, 99 people experienced confirmation, reaffirmation, or reception into the church and Anglican tradition.

The service came just days after another remarkable milestone in the life of the church. On Sunday, April 12, 16 people were baptized at Christ Church—infants, children, and adults—making Holy Week and Eastertide a season marked by God drawing people more deeply into his family.

The service was filled with joy and gratitude from beginning to end. The congregation sang songs of praise, prayed together, and celebrated what God has been doing in the lives of those taking this significant step. One by one, each person came forward as Bishop Paul Donison anointed them with oil, and then laid hands on them to receive the Holy Spirit more and more in their ongoing life of discipleship and service.

For some, it was a reaffirmation of promises made long ago. For others, it was their first confirmation, marking their entrance into the body of Christ. For others, it was a formal welcome into the Anglican tradition and the life of Christ Church. Each story was different, but together they reflected the same thing: God’s grace at work in each life and in our community as a whole.

The service culminated in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, as those newly confirmed, reaffirmed, and received joined the congregation at Jesus’ Table. Afterward, the sanctuary was full of conversation, hugs, laughter, and photos as friends and families celebrated together. The evening was a remarkable reminder of God’s faithfulness.
