What Should I Expect?
If you have never attended an Anglican or liturgical church before, you are not alone.
Our worship is both ancient and accessible—structured around Scripture, prayer, preaching, music, and Holy Communion. You do not need to know what to say or do ahead of time. We will guide you through the service, and our printed worship bulletin makes it easy to follow along.
You will encounter:
- Biblical preaching centered on Jesus and his Gospel
- Historic prayers and creeds shared by Christians across centuries
- Congregational singing and sacred music
- Reverent and participatory worship
- Invitation to partake of Holy Communion
- A church community gathered not as spectators, but as worshippers
Our worship may feel different from contemporary concert-style services—and intentionally so. In an increasingly distracted world, we believe worship should invite us into the beauty, holiness, and presence of God.
The sanctuary is called a sanctuary for a reason. It is a refuge—a place where we come to Jesus together, hear his Word, receive his grace, and find rest in his presence.

What Do Anglicans Believe?
Anglican Christianity stands within the historic Christian faith.
We believe in one God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and in Jesus Christ, whose death and resurrection reconcile us to God and bring new life to the world.
Our faith is rooted in:
- The Holy Scriptures
- The historic Creeds
- The worship and witness of the historic Church
- A living faith centered on Jesus Christ
Anglicanism is both ancient and evangelical—deeply connected to the Church’s historic practices while joyfully proclaiming the Gospel today.

We know that experiencing Anglicanism for the first time might feel overwhelming. That’s why we created this series of short videos called Anglican 101 to answer common questions in a simple, straightforward way—featuring our very own Bishop Paul Donison.
What Is Word & Sacrament?
You will often hear us describe our worship as Word and Sacrament.
This simply means we gather around two gifts Jesus has given his Church:
The Word
We hear God speak through Scripture, preaching, prayer, and teaching.
The Sacrament
We receive God’s grace through Baptism and Holy Communion—visible signs pointing us to the saving work of Jesus.
For Christians across centuries, these have been central to worship and discipleship. We believe God continues to meet and transform his people through them.
Can I Receive Communion?
Each Sunday we celebrate Holy Communion.
We invite all baptized Christians of any denomination to receive Communion with us as we remember and participate in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
If you do not wish to receive Communion, or if you are still exploring the Christian faith, you are warmly invited to come forward for a blessing. Simply cross your arms over your chest at the altar rail.
Gluten-free wafers are available.
What About My Kids?
Families are deeply valued at Christ Church.
Our professionally staffed nursery serves children ages 0–3 during Sunday services.
Children and students also participate in age-specific ministry and formation opportunities throughout the morning. After the sermon, children and students join their families in the sanctuary to participate in Holy Communion.
We love seeing families worship together, and we are committed to helping children grow in faith, friendship, and belonging.
What Should I Wear?
You will find a range of attire at Christ Church.
Some come in jackets and dresses, others in business casual or everyday clothing. There is no dress code.
Come as you are.
Will I Feel Out of Place?
We certainly hope not—and we will do our best to make sure you feel right at home.
Christ Church is a place with people from many backgrounds and life stages: lifelong Anglicans, former evangelicals, people new to liturgical worship, longtime Christians, and those still exploring faith.
You do not need to know Anglican language or customs before arriving. Simply come and worship with us.

What Do I Do After Service?
When services conclude, we invite everyone to join us for coffee and cookies in the Fellowship Hall, our large amphitheater located next to the Sanctuary. We would love to connect with you and your family. We also invite you to visit the Christ Church Bookstore, located across the Fellowship Hall lobby, for resources about Anglican life and theology.

Prayer & Pastoral Care
You do not have to carry life’s burdens alone.
Prayer ministers are available on Sundays during Holy Communion, and pastoral care is offered for seasons of grief, illness, hardship, discernment, or spiritual need.

As a small act of hospitality and mission, for every newcomer connection card completed, Christ Church donates 15 meals to the North Texas Food Bank in your honor.

Arrival Time
Doors open 20 minutes before service. Allow time for children’s check-in.
Parking
Our main parking lot is directly in front of the sanctuary on Legacy Drive.
What to Wear
Whatever is comfortable: most wear business casual or Sunday best; some, jeans and T-shirts.
Service Program
We worship with the Book of Common Prayer and take Holy Communion every week.
Music Style
We blend beautiful hymns and praise songs familiar to Christians of many backgrounds.
