Small groups are a place to know and be known, to grow in faith, and to be formed together by the Word of God.
At the heart of every small group is a simple rhythm: parishioners regularly gathering to read Scripture, learn its meaning, and let it shape who they are becoming. Through studying, sharing, praying, and caring for one another, small groups become a place of deep discipleship and formation within the life of Christ Church.
Where our worship together offers a vision of community that is majestic, formal, and heavenly, small groups offer something complementary: community that is intimate, personal, and accountable.

Our small groups are centered around the RLD Method: Read, Learn, Digest.
RLD is rooted in the historic Anglican prayer that asks God for grace to “hear, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest” his holy Word. This simple method helps groups move beyond simply reading the Bible toward understanding it deeply and allowing it to transform their lives.
Read
What does the text say?
We begin by carefully reading and observing Scripture together. Before rushing to application, we pay attention to what is actually there: the words, context, structure, characters, themes, and details of the passage.
Learn
What does the text mean?
Together, we seek to understand what Scripture is revealing about God, his people, and his purposes. Through thoughtful discussion, we learn from the text and from one another.
Digest
In what ways can the text shape us?
God’s Word is meant to become part of us. We consider how what we have read and learned should shape the way we see God, ourselves, our neighbors, and the world—and how we are being called to respond.

What Does a Small Group Look Like?
Small groups meet regularly to study Scripture through the RLD Method, share life together, pray, and care for one another. There is no required number of members, though 8–15 people is ideal—small enough for meaningful relationships and conversation while large enough to build a vibrant community.
Over time, our hope is that each group becomes a place where members are genuinely known, where friendships deepen, where Scripture shapes everyday life, and where no one walks through seasons of joy or difficulty alone.
Each small group is led by two people serving together, a Facilitator and a Host, who together encourage members to support one another through prayer, friendship, and pastoral care in times of need.
The Facilitator
guides the group through the RLD Method, leading discussion of the biblical text and helping members grow in their understanding of Scripture and mature in their faith.
The Host
cultivates the relational life of the group, helping create an environment where genuine friendships can form and each member can feel welcomed, known, and connected.
Following Jesus was never meant to be a solitary endeavor. Small groups give us a place to open God’s Word together, build meaningful relationships, pray for one another, and grow into the people God is forming us to be.
