Invitation

  • Are you new or visiting Christ Church Plano?
  • Do you have questions about Anglican traditions?
  • Would you like to find friends and community here?

Hosted by our Rector and Dean, Bishop Paul Donison, Invitation is an orientation to the vision and values of Christ Church and how you can get more involved in your discipleship and service. Attendees have an opportunity to meet other newcomers, leaders, and clergy.

Invitation is open to anyone. We encourage you to come with your questions and an eagerness to embrace your calling as a disciple of Jesus.

Foundations

A 8-week course leading to membership at Christ Church Plano, exploring the beliefs and practices most central to our faith.

Foundations focuses on basic Christian doctrine and practice from an Anglican perspective. Following the church’s great tradition of catechesis, participants will receive systematic instruction in the Holy Scriptures, The Creeds, The Lord’s Prayer, and the Ten Commandments.

  • Foundations is open to anyone who seeks to reaffirm their discipleship and especially those who are new to Christ Church.
  • Those wishing to receive Baptism, Confirmation, and Reception into the Anglican Communion, including parents who wish to baptize their children, must become Christ Church members.

Small Groups

A small group is a collection of Christ Church parishioners who regularly gather to fellowship, pray for each other, and study God’s Word. Through studying, sharing, praying, and working together, small groups become the primary place where a parishioner knows and is known, loves and is loved, serves and is served.

Where large worship services provide a sense of community that is majestic, formal, and heavenly, small groups provide a sense of community that is intimate, personal, and accountable.

  • Small groups are not required to have a specific number of members, but 8-15 is ideal.
  • All small groups have a leader who helps their group members mature in their faith and foster environments where genuine friendships form.
  • A small group leader also encourages the members to support one another with prayer and pastoral care in times of need.
